GxWorks announces ITEM v1.1, the Incentivized Travel Expense Management system
Atlanta, GA March 13, 2006 --
GxWorks, a technology consulting firm specializing in enterprise technology architecture, today
announced the release of ITEM v1.1, the system for Incentivized Travel Expense Management.
Most companies incentivize their salespeople to sell; ITEM is an online system that extends this
concept to cost reduction, and enables companies to incentivize employees to reduce expenses. ITEM
provides online T&E management, with the addition of travel expense targets that are calculated
for every employee trip. Employees can be incentivized to spend less than the expense target,
generating savings for the company and rewards for the employee. ITEM licensing fees are based on
a percentage of savings generated, so there are no costs associated with trying ITEM.
GxWorks Director of Business Development Praveen Ghanta said, "ITEM enables companies to reduce
T&E expenses by 10-20% through employee incentives. For example, an employee on a 10 week
project might save $20 per day by booking early and cutting meal expenses. That would reduce
project costs by $1000, with the employee receiving a reward worth $250. With ITEM it's possible
to reward employees for doing the right thing, creating a win-win situation where morale rises
while expenses decline."
Federal government departments including the Departments of Justice, Energy, and Education use
incentives to encourage employees to cut travel costs, and have saved millions over the last
several years doing so. While the Federal programs reward federal employees for saving primarily
on hotel costs, ITEM enables expense reduction across all travel expenses, including airfare,
hotel, car rentals, meals, and miscellaneous expenses. ITEM also provides clients with both
monetary and non-monetary reward options for their employees, including airline miles, gift
certificates, and points programs.
ITEM v1.1 provides a complete online expense management solution as the underpinning of its
solution. Clients can use ITEM to manage their expense reports and analysis, or ITEM can be
integrated with existing expense management systems. ITEM is the only expense management system
available today which provides integrated trip-level cost benchmarks. This enables ITEM's unique
incentive model and empowers travel managers to pinpoint areas of excessive spending.
